“Mega heat pumps to help industry phase out gas.”
This was the title of a recent article in the German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche, in which large heat pumps were mentioned as a possible answer to the gas crisis. The “Rotation Heat Pump” from ecop is cited as the most prominent example, which experts also believe has a lot to offer. About a third of industrial process heat could be provided by heat pumps – which can be generated in an almost CO2-neutral manner. This could save a quarter of the natural gas consumed by German industry. The article also cites as essential the fact that the “Rotation Heat Pump” does not use refrigerants that are harmful to the climate, is particularly efficient and covers a particularly wide temperature range. However, it also needs the right framework conditions on the part of policymakers.
