Faster, higher, hotter: new rotor is coming
ecop presents a world first and revolutionizes heat pump technology once again. In principle, the Rotation Heat Pump already opens up completely new application possibilities for industrial heat pumps. The new model now combines it with diffusion bonding technology, making it even more efficient.
ecop awarded €8.5 million in EIC Accelerator funding for innovative technologies
ecop has been awarded €8.5 million in funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator. Out of nearly 1.000 applicants, CEO Fabian Sacharowitz and CTO Bernhard Adler were invited and could convince the jury of the high potential for decarbonization of the Rotation Heat Pump. This is a huge step for the scale up of the company.
Rotation Heat Pump part of a showcase project for the energy transition
Germany’s first underground storage facility is being built in Meldorf in Schleswig-Holstein. ecop’s Rotation Heat Pumps are part of the highly innovative solution. The project is managed by the Steinbeis Innovation Center enegieplus (SIZ) and integrates the use of industrial waste heat and air to fill the storage tank. In the discharge cycle, extracted heat is brought to a high level for district heating. This allows the Rotation Heat Pump to fully exploit its advantages.
Fabian Sacharowitz strengthens ecop management team as CEO
Fabian Sacharowitz joins ecop as CEO to navigate growth opportunities in the industrial heat pump sector.He knows ecop well from his time as Investment Director at ecop investor InnoEnergy. Fabian will serve as Managing Director, taking on commercial and shareholder responsibilities. He is an excellent addition to founder Bernhard Adler, who will focus fully on product development as CTO.
Clean Transition Dialogue on Clean Tech
ecop CTO Bernhard Adler was one of around 20 participants invited by President of the EC Ursula von der Leyen and Maroš Šefčovič, EU Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, to the “Clean Transition Dialogue on Clean Tech” in Brussels. The aim was to strengthen the industrial dimension of the EU Green Deal.
TRIGOS Award for ecop
ecop was honored with the TRIGOS Award in the “Climate protection” category. The TRIGOS is the most prestigious award for sustainability and corporate responsibility in Austria and was presented for the 20th time. The TRIGOS is awarded by many high-ranking institutions and organizations.
Breaking the refrigerant vicious circle
All heat pumps require working media. In the vast majority of cases, these have serious disadvantages for the environment, which is why they are subject to legal restrictions. This makes sense for environmental protection, but can slow down the spread of heat pumps. ecop’s Rotation Heat Pump is a solution to this dilemma.
Use Case green hydrogen production
Hydrogen is becoming an important clean energy carrier in decarbonization. A lot of waste heat is generated during production. This can be recycled in various ways by the Rotation Heat Pump.

ecop forms a strong partnership with SPIE. The cooperation aims to further drive decarbonization in the heat production of industrial companies with innovative solutions. SPIE is a global player in the energy transition and renowned solution integrator.
Nomination “Innovator of the year”
The platform Brutkasten nominated ecop as “Innovator of the year” and calls the Rotation Heat Pump a “Gamechanger for the industry”.

ecop wins most important European innovation award
The awards of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) are considered the most prestigious innovation award in Europe. They aim to provide a stage for Europe’s leading entrepreneurial talents.
Investment InnoEnergy
ecop intends to use this in particular to set up series production for its Rotation Heat Pump and to implement projects in emission-intensive sectors. ecop plans to gradually enter all major European markets in the period up to 2025.
Article in Wirtschaftswoche
This was the title of a recent article in the German business weekly WirtschaftsWoche, in which large heat pumps were mentioned as a possible answer to the gas crisis. The “Rotation Heat Pump” from ecop is cited as the most prominent example, which experts also believe has a lot to offer.

Sponsored evaluation of integration scenarios
ecop was awarded an EU grant for the project “REHEAT” – the further development of the Rotation Heat Pump. Together with our partners EGS-plan, RM-LH and centrica business solutions, the development and evaluation of showcases for use in industrial applications is also being funded. In these, the special advantages of our technology shall be made visible and comprehensible.
